Worthington and Carson to lead Hulu spy drama The Parsifal Mosaic

Sam Worthington and Sofia Carson will star in The Parsifal Mosaic, a drama series in development at Hulu, Variety reported on 24 September 2026.
Worthington is set to play Michael Havelock. Carson is set to play Jenna Karas. They are the two starring roles announced so far for the television adaptation of Robert Ludlum's 1982 spy novel.
Both actors will also be credited as executive producers. That is a senior off-screen role, usually with a say in scripts, casting and key decisions. It does not mean they run the day-to-day shoot. It does mean they stay with the project beyond their time in front of the camera.
The adaptation was written by Wes Tooke. Seth Gordon is attached to direct, meaning he is lined up to shoot the series if it moves ahead. Legendary Entertainment is producing the series for Hulu.
Tooke will executive produce the series. He joins a producing team that includes Gordon, Worthington and Carson. Ben Smith and Jeffrey Weiner of Captivate Entertainment are also listed as executive producers.
The work at this stage is organised around scripts and attachments. Writers shape the material. Producers bring in cast and a director. A platform then decides whether to order a pilot, order straight to series, meaning no pilot is shot first, or stop.
The source is Ludlum's novel The Parsifal Mosaic, first published in 1982. The book has not yet reached the screen as a film or series. A television version therefore starts from the page, not from an earlier screen treatment.
An earlier film attempt did not get that far. Universal Pictures announced a film version in development in 2009 with Ron Howard attached to direct. Director Zhang Yimou was later in talks to direct, but the film did not move forward, according to the same report.
What makes this stand out is the gap since that attempt. Seventeen years passed between the 2009 film announcement and the Hulu series news. The new project moves the book from film development to television development.
The Hulu project is still in development, meaning it has not yet been ordered to series. That is the first formal stage. A full order, with an episode count and release plan, would only come later if Hulu decides to proceed.
