Alief Takes World Sales on Dice-Ching-O-Mat Ahead of Warsaw Bow
UK-French company Alief will sell Lithuanian director Kristijonas Vildziunas's drama-fantasy Dice-Ching-O-Mat around the world.
The deal covers international rights outside the Baltics and Poland, meaning Alief will licence the film to distributors country by country in the rest of the world, as reported by Variety on 17 September 2026. It was announced on the eve of the Warsaw International Film Festival. The film bows in competition there.
Vildziunas directs from his native Lithuania. His regular collaborator Uljana Kim produces, according to Variety. Kim received the Eurimages International Co-Production Award in 2023.
The story follows Vilis, a 55-year-old scholar of Asian Studies who becomes trapped in the Cube. That character detail comes from Cineuropa. Actor Dainus Gavenonis plays Vilis.
The wider cast includes Vilma Raubaitė, Adelė Šuminskaitė, Maksim Semionov and Vaidilė Juozaitytė, as reported by Variety. The production wrapped shooting in spring 2025 and then moved into post-production, according to Film New Europe. It is described as a drama fantasy.
Alief knows the director's work well. The company previously represented his film Songs for a Fox. Dice-Ching-O-Mat is his sixth feature-length film.
