Keith Richards covers Jimmy Reed for Grand Theft Auto VI album
Keith Richards has cut his own recording of “Bright Lights, Big City” for Grand Theft Auto VI: The Album, a 34-song collection due on Nov. 19.
Rockstar Games announced the album for Nov. 19, with vinyl and CD editions available at launch, according to the company’s announcement Rockstar Games. The set is intended to capture the electric energy of Vice City and Leonida, the fictional city and state at the centre of the forthcoming game Rolling Stone.
The Richards track is a cover, meaning a new performance of a song first released by someone else. The original “Bright Lights, Big City” is a 1961 blues song by Jimmy Reed. Rockstar lists “Keith Richards – Bright Lights, Big City” on its official Grand Theft Auto VI music page.
Richards confirmed the release on Instagram. In a post, he said the album arrives on Nov. 19 and invited fans to stream “Bright Lights, Big City” and pre-order the album.
The album news arrives in a quiet year for live dates. The Rolling Stones have no 2026 touring plans Rolling Stone.
