Dexter and the Moonrocks confirm debut album 'Friends That I Don't Like' for October 2
Dexter and the Moonrocks will release their debut full-length album, 'Friends That I Don't Like', on October 2. The 14-track record is out via Severance Records/Big Loud Rock and follows the band's 2025 EP, 'Donkey Flats'. The date and full tracklist were confirmed by Billboard.
The album includes 'Freakin' Out'. The song spent five weeks at No. 1 on Billboard's Alternative Airplay chart, which ranks plays on alternative radio in the United States. It also reached No. 33 on the Billboard Hot 100, the US singles chart.
Fourteen songs. Two guests. In order, the album runs: 'Don't Wanna Be High', 'Mull It Over', 'Said What I Said', 'Why Don't You Say So (feat. Avery Anna)', 'It's A Lot', 'Complacent', 'Let It Hurt', '12 Steps (feat. Treaty Oak Revival)', 'Under The Weather', 'Space Invader', 'If You Could Talk', 'Freakin' Out', 'Embarrassing' and 'Outro (Is DeMar DeRozan Dexter?)'.
The two collaborations pair the band with singer Avery Anna and Texas rock group Treaty Oak Revival. The closing title namechecks DeMar DeRozan, the American professional basketball player.
The band introduced the album alongside the new song 'It's A Lot', according to a band announcement. A pre-save for the album was promoted on the group's official channels. The label details were first reported by Whiskey Riff.
Touring will follow quickly. Dexter and the Moonrocks will play theatres and festivals across the United States, Canada and Australia from September 24 through February 2027.
