Zara Larsson wants 'Blue Moon' video and dreams of Coachella headline slot

Zara Larsson wants ‘Blue Moon’ to get a video. She told Billboard backstage at her Apple Music x Chase Sapphire Experience concert and Q&A that she wants to push the track next. She called it the sister to ‘Midnight Sun’ and said it deserves love and its own visuals.
The interview was published on 17 September. ‘Midnight Sun’ is both the name of her latest album and its title song. The album reached a peak of No. 36 on the Billboard 200, the US albums chart, while the single peaked at No. 13 on the Billboard Hot 100, the US songs chart, according to Billboard.
The Billboard 200 ranks albums by sales and streaming in the United States. The Hot 100 does the same for songs. A peak is the highest position a title reaches before it slips or drops off.
Larsson also spoke about Coachella, the large music festival in the California desert. She said headlining it is her dream. She has attended for years as a fan and said she feels extremely inspired by the artists and musicians who play there.
She was clear she does not feel ready yet. She wants to wait until the production and performance can be huge. She told Billboard she wants it to be so mega, big and amazing that everyone says she has to headline.
Headlining means taking the top slot and closing the night. It usually brings the longest set and the biggest stage. Larsson said she wants to earn that moment.
She reflected on her career so far. She has worked in music for a long time. She said she realises she is only now taking control over her artistry and how involved she is in her work.
That control covers sound, visuals and presentation. It is hands-on work. For a general reader, it means more of the choices fans see and hear come directly from her.
She also spoke about fellow artist Macklemore and the fan support he received after taking public stances. “I respect that so much,” she told Billboard. “It is so powerful to see how everyone can come together and make a difference.”
Earlier this year she performed ‘Midnight Sun’ at Billboard Women in Music 2026. The event was held at the Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles on Wednesday night, 29 April, as shown by Billboard. For fans, this means a push for ‘Blue Moon’ would extend the same album story rather than start a new one.
