Nick Kroll calls Netflix comedy 'A Hundred Percent' a love letter to Los Angeles
Nick Kroll has called his upcoming Netflix comedy "A Hundred Percent" a "love letter" to Los Angeles. The half-hour series was filmed in the city and is expected to debut on the streamer in 2027, Variety reported.
Kroll spoke in Los Angeles as a featured keynote speaker at the Variety Entertainment & Technology Summit presented by EY. He was interviewed on stage by Variety senior entertainment and media reporter Angelique Jackson.
He said he hopes a thriving, ongoing shooting community in Los Angeles will bring vitality back to the city. Keep productions in town. Keep crews working.
Kroll co-created the series with Gabe Liedman and stars in it. It received a series order at Netflix, meaning the platform committed straight to a full series without ordering a pilot first, Deadline reported in January.
The story centres on a group of friends working inside the Thought Leader industrial complex. Kroll described it as a world of thought leaders, self-help gurus and wellness influencers.
The cast brings together familiar comedy faces. Kroll stars alongside Sam Richardson, Jason Mantzoukas and Vanessa Bayer, with Diane Lane joining in a recurring role.
For viewers, that mix sets the tone. A workplace ensemble. A satire of the advice business. Rooted in a very Los Angeles industry.
Kroll also addressed his wider slate. He is an executive producer of the FX sitcom "Adults," which follows five 20-something friends sharing a house in Queens, New York. The show was made under his first-look deal with FX, an agreement giving the network the first chance to develop his projects, which has lasted more than 15 years.
His history with Netflix runs through animation. He has served as executive producer and voice actor on the animated series "Mating Season" and "Human Resources" and the Emmy-nominated "Big Mouth."
"A Hundred Percent" is listed as a half-hour comedy, Netflix confirms. No premiere date has been announced beyond the 2027 window.
What makes this stand out is the production choice. Filming in Los Angeles keeps jobs, stages and suppliers in the city Kroll was praising on stage.
