Buyers pick Herrera, Lauren and Khaite as New York favourites

Store buyers have picked their winners from New York Fashion Week.
Retailers named Carolina Herrera, the New York house, Ralph Lauren, the American company, Tory Burch, the American label, Khaite, the New York label, and Heirlome among their favourite collections for spring 2027, the season of clothes due in shops next spring WWD. Buyers noticed colour first.
The buyers, the retail staff who decide what stores will stock, pointed to bursts of colour, elevated and sporty outerwear, fringe, transparency and lingerie and nightgown-inspired styles as key trends for the season WWD. The list covers daywear and eveningwear. It was reported by WWD, the fashion trade paper, on 18 September 2026.
Chloe King, fashion director for women's at Neiman Marcus and Saks Fifth Avenue, the American department stores, gave her own six. She named Proenza Schouler, Carolina Herrera, Conner Ives, Zankov, Altuzarra and Thom Browne WWD. Her picks overlap with the wider group on Herrera, Altuzarra and Browne.
Herrera had extra attention this week. The house celebrated its 45th anniversary during the New York shows. WWD reported that its spring 2027 collection opened with punchier, more graphic silhouettes in black, white and taxi cab colours WWD. A recap by W Magazine, the fashion magazine, highlighted the Herrera show alongside looks from Altuzarra and Khaite W Magazine.
Heirlome also drew notice. The label held its debut show during the week, its first appearance on the New York schedule. Debuts often struggle for buyer attention. This one made the favourite lists.
The calendar ran across September in New York, with shows and presentations across the city. Tory Burch, Ralph Lauren, Coach, the American leather goods house, and Rachel Comey, the New York label, were all listed for Wednesday, 9 September 2026 FashionWeekDaily. W Magazine named Ralph Lauren, Proenza Schouler, Tory Burch and Sandy Liang among the New York regulars showing spring 2027 collections W Magazine. Elle, the fashion magazine, called the season "one big anniversary" Elle.
What makes this stand out for shoppers is timing. Buyer picks now help decide what will be ordered, made and delivered in quantity for spring. For fans, this means the colours and fringed, sheer and nightgown shapes buyers talked about are the ones most likely to reach the shop floor.
