Sienna Spiro holds UK No. 1 for second week with Great Expectation

Sienna Spiro has held UK No. 1 for a second week with "Great Expectation".

The song stayed top of the UK Official Singles Chart, the weekly ranking of the most popular singles in Britain, on the chart published Sept. 18. It follows her first week at the summit on Sept. 11, as reported by Billboard.

"Great Expectation" is taken from Spiro's 2026 debut LP "Visitor". It also made her the youngest British female artist to earn a UK No. 1 since Becky Hill topped the chart in July 2014 with "Gecko (Overdrive)" with Oliver Heldens. That is a 12-year gap.

The race was close at the midweek stage. The Official Chart First Look had Hugel, Imael Angel and Ultra Nate's "Movin' to the Sun" at No. 1, with "Great Expectation" at No. 2, according to Official Charts. By the final chart, Ella Langley's "Choosin' Texas" took No. 2. The song is already a Billboard Hot 100 topper in the United States, the US weekly singles ranking.

"Movin' to the Sun" finished at No. 3 in the UK. Stella Lefty's "Boston" was next at No. 4.

Dua Lipa completed the top five. "Training Season" returned to the UK top five at No. 5, more than two years after its previous peak at No. 4.

The return has been linked to listeners. Lipa said she wrote "Training Season" before meeting her now-husband Callum Turner and described it as "almost like a manifestation". Streaming picked up around a social media trend where fans post about manifesting future hopes. The song also ranks at No. 5 on Billboard's Hot Dance/Pop Songs chart, which tracks dance and pop releases in the US.

Its wider resurgence followed the song going viral on TikTok and the release of the 'Training Season's Over' EP, which helped it return to three UK charts in early September, according to Forbes.

Lower in the top 10, Ashe entered new territory. "Stop the Wedding!" reached the UK top 10 for the first time at No. 9. It also debuted on the Billboard Hot 100 at No. 96.

Spiro scored twice in the top 10. Her "Die on this Hill", which first gave her a UK Top 10 single last year, reentered at No. 10.

What makes this week stand out is how new songs and returning ones sit side by side. Just outside the top 10, Alyssa Grace's "Bloodstream" earned a new peak at No. 12. Adela's "Nicole Kidman" climbed 35 places week on week to No. 15.

Noah Kahan posted two new highs further down. "Orbiter" reached No. 22 and "Willing and Able" reached No. 35.
