Costume Designers Guild Sets February Date for 29th Awards in Los Angeles
The 29th Costume Designers Guild Awards will take place on Thursday, February 25, 2027, in Los Angeles. Winners will be announced that night, according to Deadline.
It is the awards night for the people who dress film and television. The CDG Awards celebrate excellence in film, TV and short-form costume design and costume illustration. Short form here means shorter projects such as commercials, music videos and short films.
The guild behind the show is a working craft organisation. It includes more than 1,000 costume designers, assistant costume designers and illustrators working worldwide. It operates as IATSE Local 892, meaning a local branch of the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees, the union for behind-the-scenes entertainment workers.
The road to the ceremony starts online this autumn. Online submissions open at 9 a.m. PT on Friday, October 2. They close at 5 p.m. PT on Friday, November 6. That window is when productions and teams put work forward for consideration.
Nomination voting follows in December. Nomination ballot voting, the round where voting members pick the shortlists, opens at 9 a.m. PT on Wednesday, December 9. It closes at 5 p.m. PT on Wednesday, December 16.
Nominations will be announced on Friday, December 18. Expect the lists of contenders in film, television and short form to arrive that morning. No venue for the Los Angeles ceremony has been announced yet.
The final choice comes in the new year. Final ballot voting, the round that decides the winners from the nominees, opens at 9 a.m. PT on Monday, January 25. It closes at 5 p.m. PT on Monday, February 1, 2027, according to BroadwayWorld.
For fans, this means a clear calendar. Submissions in October. Nominees in December. Winners in February. The outfits that defined the year on screen will get their own close-up.
