Outlander: Blood of My Blood Season 2 arrives on Starz on Sept. 18

Outlander: Blood of My Blood Season 2 premieres on Sept. 18 at 8 p.m. PT/ET on Starz.
That is the US launch slot, meaning 8 p.m. on both the East Coast and the West Coast. New episodes will also be available to stream on the STARZ app, the channel's own streaming service. The Hollywood Reporter lists the time and date as the Season 2 kick-off.
Season 2 stays with two young couples. Both pairs will be tested and separated once again by forces beyond their control, according to Starz. It is a love-across-obstacles story. Expect distance to do the damage this time.
The simplest streaming route is direct. Viewers can subscribe to the STARZ app and watch there without a cable or satellite bundle. Starz advertised a $30 for one year deal for the app around the premiere, in posts on Sept. 11 and 12, according to Starz. That is a limited-time price. Read the end date and renewal terms before you pay.
Live TV is another path. DirecTV, the US pay-TV provider, carries Starz as an add-on channel and as a stream. Customers on its Entertainment, Choice or Ultimate Signature packages can get Starz free for three months under a limited-time promo. Its top-level Premier package already includes Starz at no extra cost as part of the line-up.
DirecTV also offers a standard five-day free trial for new customers. That is short. It covers only five days from sign-up, so it suits someone ready to watch on launch night. Check what is included in your area, and when billing starts.
For viewers, this means a straight choice. Watch live at 8 p.m. or stream later that evening. Either way, Season 2 starts on the same night.
