My Hero Academia's 'You Say Run' Returns With Electric Callboy
My Hero Academia composer Hayashi Yuki has re-recorded “You Say Run” with German band Electric Callboy for the anime’s 10th anniversary.
The new track is billed as “You Say Run -10th Anniversary Ver.-” by Hayashi Yuki featuring Electric Callboy. It streams globally from Sept. 22, Toho Co., Ltd. said Variety.
Fans heard it first in person. The reworked theme debuted live in London on Sept. 20 at “My Hero Academia in Concert,” a live show where an orchestra plays music from the series alongside screened visuals.
The pairing started with lyrics. Hayashi wrote new English lyrics for the anniversary version. That work brought him into contact with Electric Callboy vocalists Kevin Ratajczak and Nico Sallach.
The sound keeps the original orchestral arrangement at its core. Around it sits Electric Callboy’s mix of EDM, or electronic dance music made for clubs and festivals, and sharp pop hooks.
Bones Film, the animation studio behind the series, created new art for the release. The illustration shows hero Izuku Midoriya, also known as Deku, unleashing a Smash attack. It is a direct nod to the cover of the anime’s original Season 1 soundtrack.
The single forms part of the “My Hero Academia The Animation 10th Anniversary” programme. The anniversary programme is scheduled to run through 2026.
That history is long. Creator Horikoshi Kohei’s original manga ended in August 2024 after selling more than 100 million copies worldwide. The anime that followed spans eight seasons, more than 170 episodes and four feature films, with its eighth and final season released in fall 2025 Variety.
Electric Callboy bring their own following. The group formed in Germany in 2010 and is known for “Hypa Hypa,” “We Got the Moves” and “Ratatata,” a collaboration with Babymetal.
The concert staging continues. “My Hero Academia in Concert” is touring 10 European cities in September and October 2026, with tickets for the run on sale since Feb. 27 TicketNews. The schedule includes AFAS Live in Amsterdam on Sept. 23, 2026.
For fans, this means two ways to hear the new version. Catch the orchestra on tour, or find the studio recording on streaming services from Sept. 22.
