Freya Skye's Bad Taste Wins Billboard Fan Poll With 82% of Vote

Freya Skye's "Bad Taste" has won Billboard's weekly fan vote for favourite new music with 82% of the vote.

The result was confirmed on 21 September, after voting in the poll published on Friday, 18 September, according to Billboard. The margin was wide.

ROSÉ finished second with 14% for her solo single "New Trick". That left 4% of the vote to be shared among the rest of the week's field.

That field covered several releases. Music from Miley Cyrus, Carly Rae Jepsen and Riley Green was also in the vote, alongside Kim Petras. Jepsen competed with the song "Day and Night".

"Bad Taste" arrived only days before the poll. Skye released the single on 16 September, with a music video released alongside it.

In an interview with Billboard, Skye said "Bad Taste" had become one of her favourite songs. She did not frame it as an album preview.

Fans had already heard a version of the track. Skye previewed a live, acoustic rendition in December at her first headlining concert in New York City.

For fans, this means the single stands on its own for now. "Bad Taste" is not expected to appear on Skye's debut full-length album.
