Milan takes the spotlight as Vogue World arrives in the city

Milan hosts Vogue World Milano 2026 at the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II on 22 September 2026. It is the fifth annual edition. The venue is the 19th-century arcade in the city centre, according to event details from Condé Nast.
The show lands in a busy Milan week. WWD, the US trade publication, has published Milan features celebrating designers, executives and other figures driving Italian and world culture. Its WWD Culture Club Milan 2026 brings together designers, industry executives, creatives and cultural figures shaping the city's cultural moment.
One of those figures is Luigi Maramotti, chairman of Max Mara Fashion Group, the Italian owner of Max Mara. He is the son of founder Achille Maramotti. The group marked the brand's 75th anniversary in 2026, according to WWD.
As part of the anniversary, Max Mara unveiled its resort 2027 collection in Shanghai. A resort collection is the between-seasons range shown ahead of the main calendar. The brand also staged the exhibition "The Max!" at the Long Museum West Bund in Shanghai.
The numbers are large. Max Mara Fashion Group reported sales of EUR 1.99 billion in 2025. It has around 6,000 employees worldwide. It has around 2,300 stores globally in more than 100 countries.
Art runs through the story. Collezione Maramotti, the family collection based in Reggio Emilia, comprises more than 1,200 works of contemporary art from 1945 onward. The Max Mara Art Prize for Women was established in 2005.
Another name in the spotlight is Davide De Giglio, founder and chief executive of D Capital, the investment firm. He was one of three cofounders of New Guards Group, the Milan-based brand platform. It was established in 2015 by De Giglio, Claudio Antonioli and Marcelo Burlon.
Farfetch, the online luxury retailer, acquired New Guards Group for USD 675 million in 2019. De Giglio exited the group in 2023. He left after eight years.
D Capital acquired a 55 percent stake in menswear label Umit Benan in 2024. The firm was a cofounding investor in Isamaya, the beauty brand, and a seed investor in Rhode, the beauty brand, according to WWD.
Tailoring is also in focus. Antonio De Matteis is chief executive of Kiton, the Neapolitan menswear house. He is a nephew of founder Ciro Paone. He took on the chief executive role in 2007.
Paone died in 2021. Kiton counts 60 flagships globally and 800 employees. Maria Giovanna Paone, the daughter of the founder, is president of Kiton.
What makes this stand out for a general reader is the mix. The catwalk gets the attention. The business behind it employs thousands, funds art collections and backs new labels.
