Chanel Cresswell joins Netflix's The Lords' Day opposite Damson Idris

Chanel Cresswell has joined the cast of The Lords' Day, Netflix's upcoming British political thriller led by Damson Idris.

The casting was reported by Deadline on 22 September 2026. Cresswell's role has not been revealed.

Idris stars as Harry Jones, a British secret service agent. The story puts Jones at the centre of a crisis at the heart of British politics.

He is joined by a large ensemble. Harry Lawtey, Arsema Thomas, Sophie Willan, Gemma Whelan and Timothy Spall are all on the call sheet alongside Idris and Cresswell.

The series is an adaptation of a book by Michael Dobbs. It comes from Bad Wolf, the Welsh production company behind His Dark Materials and Doctor Who.

Cresswell is already familiar to Netflix viewers in Britain. She plays Tammy, the wife of Freddy Horniman, in the streamer's UK series The Gentlemen.

Her earlier work includes all three This is England mini-series on Channel 4. She won a BAFTA for her performance in This is England '90.

She also played Coleen Rooney in Vardy v Rooney: A Courtroom Drama. That series dramatised the libel case between Rooney and Rebekah Vardy.

No release date has been announced for The Lords' Day. Netflix has not yet confirmed further plot details.
