Some games on the PlayStation Store now pay a little back.

Listings for select titles show a wallet credit bonus, which is money added to a shopper's PlayStation account to spend on games or add-ons later. One buyer of The Blood of Dawnwalker reported receiving US$10 in credit after purchase, in accounts detailed on 22 September 2026 Eurogamer.

On the US store, the Standard and Eclipse editions of The Blood of Dawnwalker both carried an "includes wallet credit" message. That message listed an offer end date of 29 September. Check the listing before you pay.

It is not only that game. Wallet credit messages have also been reported on Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy, Star Wars Zero Company and Halloween: The Game. Reports have come from shoppers outside the US as well as inside it.

The promotion appears to be limited to one credit redemption per customer CBR. Sony has not issued a formal announcement about the scheme, which has been described as an unannounced rewards programme handing credits to some players for buying games Kotaku.

There is a possible clue to what sits behind it. A PlayStation Store app named Wallet Credits was uncovered in February, and the September offers have been linked to that find in press coverage. Sony has not confirmed the connection.

A similar tactic has appeared elsewhere. The Xbox Store offered US$5 / £4 in credit for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 pre-orders for a limited time.

For shoppers, the point is practical. The bonus only shows on certain editions and only for a short window. If credit is part of the decision, read the store page carefully and note the end date.
