Monopoly Go calls in pop stars and ghost hunters for Halloween

Demon-hunting pop stars and veteran ghost hunters are moving onto the Monopoly Go board.
Scopely has announced Monster Mash, a Halloween season for the mobile game that brings together Netflix's KPop Demon Hunters and Sony Pictures' Ghostbusters. The season runs from 23 September 2026 to 25 November 2026, as reported by GameSpot. It is a busy autumn for a game built on short events and tie-ins.
The KPop Demon Hunters half centres on Huntr/X and the Saja Boys. Rumi, Mira and Zoey will appear in the game during the event. Two Huntr/X songs, "Golden" and "How It's Done", will feature in Monopoly Go while the crossover is live.
The Ghostbusters half leans on the films. It adds themed vehicles, locations and characters from the series. The Proton Blaster, the crew's ghost-catching gear, is included in the update. Scopely described the pairing as a supernatural takeover in its announcement, according to Scopely.
Halloween brings its own tricks. Players will get a Luck-O-Lanter, a pumpkin-style container they fill with sweet treats found on the game board. A new dice duel feature lets players roll against opponents. The higher roll decides whether it is trick or treat.
There is a community touch too. Players can vote on token designs made by fans on Discord, the chat app where players gather outside the game, to decide which new playing pieces enter Monopoly Go. Tokens are the small markers players move around the board, and fan votes give regulars a direct say.
The Monster Mash follows a Looney Tunes crossover that was live in the game, as reported by MobileGamer.biz. Promotion has already started on the game's official channel with the lines "Roll into spooky season!" and "Join the Monster Mash!". An earlier promo video built around a sticker trade ends with characters Miriah and Dana meeting.
For players, this means two fandoms on one board. Sing along on one turn. Bust ghosts on the next.
