Princess Anne sent white roses to Oslo for the funeral of Princess Astrid of Norway.

The funeral was held Wednesday, Sept. 23, at Ris Church in Oslo. Anne's wreath sat near the coffin. Its card was on Buckingham Palace letterhead, signed with her name and inscribed "With love and happy memories," Town & Country reported.

Astrid's coffin was surrounded by flowers from the Norwegian royal family and foreign monarchies. Among the tributes were wreaths from King Frederik and Queen Mary of Denmark and from King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia of Sweden.

King Haakon and Queen Mette-Marit of Norway placed a wreath of white roses. It carried the names of Princess Ingrid Alexandra, Prince Sverre Magnus and Marius Borg Høiby.

Astrid was the older sister of the late King Harald V of Norway, Reuters reported. She died peacefully on Friday, Sept. 11, at age 94, according to the Norwegian Royal House. She had attended her brother's funeral two days earlier.

Harald died peacefully at Oslo University Hospital Rikshospitalet on Friday, Aug. 28, at 6:35 a.m., the palace said. Astrid's service at Ris Church, scheduled for 1 p.m. local time, came two weeks after her brother's funeral, Hello! reported.

What makes this stand out is the personal note. Royal wreaths often carry only a name and title. Anne added five words of affection.
