Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex and Meghan, Duchess of Sussex are opening the new season of ABC News' weekly magazine Impact x Nightline.

The episode is titled "The Return of the Prince." It premieres Sept. 24 on Disney+ and centers on the couple's move back to Britain in late August after six years in the United States, as first reported by Town & Country.

Harry and Meghan lived in California during those six years. They had stepped away from senior royal roles — meaning official public duties carried out on behalf of the monarch — more than six years before the move.

The episode will unpack their public falling-out with the royal family and what a longer stay in Britain could mean. It is the first episode of the show's new season.

A representative for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex said the couple decided to spend an extended period in the U.K. in autumn. The representative said they are excited for their children to spend more time there.

Since the return, Harry has carried out a number of public engagements. His first appearances came in mid-September, according to Reuters. Meghan has yet to appear in public in Britain.

They will remain non-working royals, meaning they do not carry out official duties for the Crown, according to ABC News.

The episode draws on royal reporters, commentators and ABC News correspondents. Interviewees include Victoria Murphy, Farzana Baduel, Afua Hagan, Robert Jobson, Elizabeth Holmes, Omid Scobie, Alastair Bruce, Erin Hill, Kinsey Schofield and Maggie Rulli.

For American viewers, this means a U.S. network retelling a British family story with American roots. Meghan is American, the children spent their early years in California, and the move reverses a chapter many viewers watched unfold from Montecito.
