INI Top Japan Hot 100 With 'You Know What To Do'

INI have taken No. 1 on the Billboard Japan Hot 100 with “You Know What To Do.”

The chart was released Sept. 23 and covers the tracking week of Sept. 14 to 20, as reported by Billboard. The Hot 100 is organised as a combined chart, blending physical sales, downloads, streams, radio airplay and video views into one ranking.

The song is the title track of INI’s ninth single, “ANTHEM,” released Sept. 16. It had arrived digitally on Aug. 24, followed by a music video, according to Billboard Japan. Lyric credits include NISHI HIROTO, GOTO TAKERU and Rose Blueming.

Sales did the heavy lifting. “You Know What To Do” opened with 823,028 copies, the figure counted by Billboard Japan, to finish first on the sales measure. It also placed No. 2 for both radio airplay and downloads.

That is seven No. 1s. The new leader follows “All 4 U” to become INI’s seventh topper on the Japan Hot 100. The group has now passed half a million copies sold for a tenth consecutive release.

Below them, EBiDAN’s “Yes! Tokyo” slipped to No. 2 after two straight weeks at No. 1. M!LK held at No. 3 with “Jiku Koete Universe,” which led the week for both radio airplay and video views.

YAO climbed from No. 11 to No. 4 with “Arifureta Sekai no Hate ni.” The track was No. 1 for streaming that week. Mrs. GREEN APPLE’s “Brand New” moved up to No. 5.

M!LK placed three songs in the top 10 at once, including “Jiku Koete Universe” at No. 3. BE:FIRST entered at No. 11 with “WATCH ME feat. BIA.”

What makes this stand out is the split at the top. INI ruled on physical sales, while other acts led streaming, radio and video. For fans, this means physical buying remains INI’s strongest suit, while streaming crowned a different favourite that week.
