Martha Louise and Durek Verrett hold hands at Princess Astrid's funeral

Princess Martha Louise of Norway and her husband, Durek Verrett, held hands as they left the funeral of Princess Astrid in Oslo on 23 September.
The couple walked from the church together after the service, both dressed in black. They had also arrived holding hands, according to Hello! Magazine.
The funeral was held at Ris Church in Oslo, starting at 1 p.m. local time, according to Town & Country. The service took place on a Wednesday, less than two weeks after Astrid's death.
Princess Astrid died on 11 September at the age of 94. She was the aunt of Princess Martha Louise.
Her coffin was carried outside the church in Oslo at the end of the service. King Haakon was one of seven pallbearers who carried it.
Astrid was laid to rest at Akershus Fortress, the historic castle and burial place in Oslo, next to her husband Johan Martin Ferner. The couple were married from 1961 until his death in 2015.
Her five children are Cathrine, Benedikte, Alexander, Elisabeth and Carl-Christian Ferner. They were named in the funeral arrangements as her surviving family.
For Martha Louise, the service came one day after her 55th birthday. She marked the birthday on 22 September, the day before the funeral.
Martha Louise and Verrett confirmed their relationship in May 2019 and married in 2024. Verrett, a Californian shaman, has accompanied Martha Louise to family occasions since the marriage.
The funeral follows a second recent bereavement for the family. King Harald died on 28 August at the age of 89. Verrett was brought to tears during Harald's funeral service earlier in September.
