Bentley has revealed the Torcal, its first fully electric car.

The new vehicle is a fully electric SUV. It was shown at a launch event in London on 23 September 2026, Dezeen reported.

The Torcal will be sold as a 2028 model. That model-year tag is how the car industry labels a car's place in the sales calendar. It is a two-row luxury SUV, built to carry passengers in two lines of seats with added space and comfort, as MotorTrend reported. Luxury here refers to finish, materials and price.

Bentley says the Torcal will be its most powerful model ever, according to Car and Driver. Powerful means the highest power output the brand has yet offered. It runs on batteries alone, with no petrol engine. For anyone new to electrics, charging replaces refuelling.

Prices will start at £173,000 ($230,000), Bloomberg reported. That figure is the entry point to the range, before options and fees. It is the number every buyer will watch first.

The design was led by Robin Page, Bentley's design director. The front carries a large grille, the framed face that once fed air to an engine. On the Torcal the grille can be illuminated in a diamond pattern. It lights up in small, repeating shapes.

That grille design references the Continental T's grille. A reference means a visual link, not a shared part. It connects the electric car to an earlier Bentley coupe. The link is deliberate and easy to see.

Bentley gives the Torcal a range of 600 kilometres. Range is the distance a car can travel on a full charge. Six hundred kilometres is Bentley's headline figure for the car. Plug in again when it runs out.

Inside, the Torcal features pure Merino wool. Merino is a soft, fine sheep's wool more often found in clothing. Bentley is using it as cabin trim, alongside more familiar surfaces. The choice puts textile at the centre of the interior. It is soft to touch.

What makes this stand out is the mix. Battery power. A face that lights up. Wool where leather might be expected. For fans, this means the first chance to buy a Bentley with no fuel tank and no exhaust. No noise from an engine. No stops for petrol.

The London unveiling gave the public its first full look at the car. The name Torcal now leads the company's electric line-up.
