Warner Bros. has pushed its untitled third Gremlins movie back 11 months to 6 October 2028, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The film was previously dated for 19 November 2027. The wait just got longer.

Chris Columbus will direct the sequel. He wrote the 1984 original Gremlins, the story of a small, furry Mogwai and the chaos that follows when three simple rules are broken. He is writing the new script with Zach Lipovsky and Adam B. Stein.

Steven Spielberg is executive producing the new film. The producers are Kristie Macosko Krieger, Holly Bario, Columbus, Michael Barnathan and Mark Radcliffe, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

When the project was dated for November 2027, it was set to be the first Gremlins film in 37 years. That gap now stretches a little further, into autumn 2028.

Warner Bros. also shifted Dynamic Duo, an animated feature from DC Studios. The film centres on Dick Grayson and Jason Todd, two young men who have each held the mantle of Robin, the costumed partner to Batman. Readers who know Batman only from the live-action films will meet a different corner of that world here.

Dynamic Duo comes from Swaybox and will combine animation, puppetry and CGI. Matt Aldrich is writing the script. James Gunn and Peter Safran are producing with Matt Reeves' 6th & Idaho.

The calendar shuffle puts Dynamic Duo five months ahead of The Batman: Part II, which opens in February 2028, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

For fans, this means more time to wait for both returns. Gremlins arrives with its original writer back in the director's chair, while Dynamic Duo offers a Robin-led story built with an unusual mix of techniques.
