London Design Festival 2026 closed after nine days of city-wide shows

London's nine-day design takeover ran 12–20 September 2026, spreading exhibitions, installations and talks across the city from cathedrals to factory districts.
ARTnews marked the moment on 24 September with a review titled 'London Gets Ready for London Design Festival and London Fashion Week', linking the design programme to the city's fashion calendar. The London Design Festival in London, which organises the annual event, lists its dates as 12–20 September 2026.
Festival organisers said winners for the 2026 edition had been announced, according to the London Design Festival. Details on its homepage point visitors to the full list.
One city-centre anchor was 'The Point of Unity and Soul' at St Paul's Cathedral in London. The festival describes it as contemporary light and media art, meaning work made with projection, light and moving image rather than paint or stone.
Another thread was Reviving Craft. Broadcaster and cultural figure Yang Lan served as co-curator on the project in connection with the festival.
In west London, Brompton Design District, one of the festival's neighbourhood hubs where shops and studios stage coordinated shows, presented a 2026 curated programme titled Perfectly Imperfect. The title was listed on the festival's programme page.
Elsewhere, Reading Design 2026: Proof, Fire and Table moved location. The show, part of Manufactory 2026, shifted from Grymsdyke Farm in Buckinghamshire to Park Royal Design District in west London, according to a festival listing published 12 September. Manufactory is the festival's strand focused on making and manufacturing.
For visitors, navigation was digital. The festival offered an LDF Digital Guide on Bloomberg Connects, a free app that museums and festivals use for maps and audio guides.
What makes this stand out for a casual visitor is the range. You could start under the dome of St Paul's and end in a factory estate. No prior knowledge needed. Just follow the programme.
