Emily Fox signs new three-year Arsenal deal

Emily Fox is staying at Arsenal. The United States defender has signed a new contract understood to run for three years, according to BBC. Fox, 28, described the decision to stay as "an easy decision".
She had entered the final year of her previous deal, the point when a player can start to attract interest from elsewhere. Arsenal moved to settle her future early, with the announcement coming on 24 September. For a team chasing trophies on several fronts, it removes one big question.
Fox joined Arsenal from North Carolina Courage in January 2024, swapping America's top flight for England. She took the number 2 shirt, according to Arsenal, and made the defence her home. That means her main work is stopping wingers and protecting the goal, then helping to launch attacks from the back. As a United States women's international, she carries that same responsibility on the national team stage too.
The workload shows how quickly she became essential. She has made 93 appearances for Arsenal in all competitions and scored three goals, according to Sky Sports. That is closing fast on 100 games in under three full seasons. Managers do not pick a defender that often unless the level barely drops. Fox's level has not.
The medals came with the minutes. She won the Women's League Cup, England's knockout cup for women's clubs, in her first season. She was then part of the Arsenal squad that won the Women's Champions League, Europe's top club competition, in 2025. The squad added the Women's Champions Cup trophy in 2026, completing a glittering two-year run.
Her peers have noticed. Fox was named in the PFA Team of the Year, a best XI voted for by fellow professionals, in each of the last two campaigns. She was also selected to represent the United States at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games in the summer after she joined Arsenal. It is a record that blends club consistency with international trust.
For fans, this means continuity you can hear. You know the sprint to snuff out a counter. You know the calm pass out of a tight corner. What makes this stand out is the promise of more shared afternoons with a player at her peak, doing the simple things at full speed.
