Espinoza Paz and La Fiera de Ojinaga have taken “Yo No Dije” to No. 1 on Billboard’s Regional Mexican Airplay chart dated 26 September.

The duet climbs 2-1 to lead the weekly ranking, which measures the most-played songs on regional Mexican radio stations in the United States. Billboard reported the move on 24 September.

The climb was powered by radio growth. “Yo No Dije” drew 6.4 million in audience impressions, the estimate of how many listeners heard the song, in the US during the 11-17 September tracking week, up 11%, according to Luminate.

For Espinoza Paz, the No. 1 ends a seven-year wait. It is his first leader on Regional Mexican Airplay since 2019.

The gap was not quiet. He has logged 26 career entries on the chart, including five songs released during the period without a No. 1. His best result in that stretch was “Vanidosa” with La Arrolladora Banda El Limón de René Camacho, which reached No. 11 in April 2020.

For La Fiera de Ojinaga, the pace is quicker. “Yo No Dije” is the group’s sixth No. 1 on Regional Mexican Airplay.

Its last leader was “Selfie,” which spent one week at No. 1 last November. The new single therefore delivers back-to-back chart-topping years for the band.

The song is also crossing over. “Yo No Dije” rises to No. 2 on Billboard’s overall Latin Airplay chart, which covers Latin-format radio as a whole.

That is Espinoza Paz’s highest placing on Latin Airplay since “Lo Intentamos,” which reached No. 1 in 2003. For La Fiera de Ojinaga, it is the group’s highest-ranking Latin Airplay song to date among nine career top 10s.

What makes this stand out is the timing for both acts. One ends a long stretch without a No. 1. The other extends a run of recent radio success. On this tracking week, those two stories met at the top.
