Apple Music to livestream Head Trip festival free on Oct. 10-11

Apple Music will stream live video from dance festival Head Trip on Oct. 10-11, free to watch with no subscription needed. It is the platform's first video livestream from the event, with cameras on the main stage across both days, Billboard reported.
You do not need a subscription. Apple Music said the stream will be open to everyone, so anyone with the app or a web browser can drop in. The exact set times have not been published yet and will be released closer to the weekend.
The dates are set. Head Trip runs for two days, Oct. 10 and Oct. 11, on the Coachella grounds in Indio, California. It is a one-time-only festival presented by promoter Goldenvoice, which organises large outdoor events on the site.
The bill is built around dance music. The lineup includes Calvin Harris, Swedish House Mafia, Skrillex, Four Tet, Peggy Gou, Dom Dolla, Kettama, Chris Lake, FISHER, The Blessed Madonna, DJ Harvey and Ben Sterling. Most of those acts normally headline their own tours, which explains why the weekend has drawn attention beyond California.
Lake and FISHER will also present their joint Under Construction show during the festival, according to Lake's website. The main stage, where Apple Music will focus its cameras, was designed by Romain Pissenem and his company High Scream. Pissenem's team specialises in large-scale stage design for dance events, where lighting, video screens and structure are part of the show.
For fans, this means a front-row view without a ticket or travel. A livestream of this kind is simply live video sent out as it happens, so viewers watch the same performance at the same time as the crowd. Here the coverage will stay with the main stage, rather than jumping between smaller tents.
What makes this stand out is access. Festival livestreams are often locked behind paywalls or fan clubs. This one is free. A viewer can check in for a favourite act, leave it running in the background, or watch both nights in full.
