Designer Thom Browne and curator Andrew Bolton will share top billing at the opening night of the 2027 Winter Show in New York.

The pair will be honoured on January 22 at the Park Avenue Armory, the opening night of the fair's 73rd edition, according to Women's Wear Daily. The fair, an annual market for art, antiques and design, will run January 22 through January 31.

Browne is the American designer known for his shrunken tailoring and his New York-based label. Bolton is curator of the Costume Institute, the fashion department at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Organisers billed this year's honourees as two fashion-world couples.

The second couple takes centre stage a week later. Tanner Richie and Fletcher Kasell, the designers behind the label Tanner Fletcher, will be honoured at Young Collectors Night on January 28. Their work is known for playful, gender-fluid dressing and has built a strong youth following.

The Winter Show is more than a selling floor. All proceeds benefit East Side House Settlement, a social services organisation headquartered in the South Bronx. The group is the owner of the fair, according to The Winter Show.

East Side House Settlement says it provides more than 15,000 children and families each year with resources to reach education and career goals. Money raised at the fair supports that work.

For visitors, tickets start at USD 45 for general admission. A two-day pass costs USD 75 and a collectors pass costs USD 200. Students with valid identification pay USD 25, and children under 12 enter free.

Each ticket includes access to the public In-Dialogue programmes series and a copy of the fair catalogue while supplies last, according to the fair's website.

What makes this stand out is the mix. An antiques fair is not a fashion week runway, but fashion names draw a new crowd. For fans, this means a chance to see Browne, Bolton, Richie and Kasell in a room full of dealers, collectors and curious first-timers.
