All American Ends After Eight Seasons on The CW

All American has run its last play.
The football drama closed out eight seasons and more than 100 episodes, and The CW is promoting its season finale for Tuesday. It leaves as the last of its breed on the network.
The series was inspired by the life of former NFL linebacker Spencer Paysinger. It debuted in October 2018 and wrapped production in December 2025, according to Deadline.
The dugout changed early. On 2 October 2018, creator and showrunner April Blair, the writer-producer in day-to-day charge of a series, was replaced by co-executive producer Nkechi Okoro Carroll. Carroll had not been involved in shaping the pilot, the trial first episode made to sell a series, or the original idea.
Carroll stayed for the long haul. The show kept going through cast turnover, including an exodus of series regulars, meaning contracted main cast, after Season 6.
That longevity matters for The CW. All American is ending as the last series of its kind on the network after it largely abandoned young-adult television.
The final stretch has been clearly signposted. Season 8 Episode 11, titled "Find Your Way Back", aired on 14 September 2026. Season 8 Episode 12, titled "Finish Line", aired on 21 September 2026, according to The CW. The broadcaster is now listing a season finale for Tuesday, according to The CW homepage.
For fans, this means a long goodbye is now measured in days, not seasons. Eight years, one leadership change and more than 100 episodes. That is a full run by any measure.
