Netflix releases Unabomber, with Jacob Tremblay as young Ted Kaczynski

Netflix has put the Ted Kaczynski story back on screen with Unabomber, which arrived Friday, Sept. 25.
The film is directed by Janus Metz, according to The Hollywood Reporter. It was written by Sam Chalsen and Nelson Greaves. That credit is also listed by The Hollywood Reporter.
Jacob Tremblay plays Kaczynski, alongside Russell Crowe, Shailene Woodley, Annabelle Wallis and Gus Halper, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Tremblay takes the role of the younger Kaczynski. Netflix first identified him in the part in its Tudum preview, later followed by a first-look post from Netflix Canada.
The story runs on two tracks. One follows the young Kaczynski at Harvard University, where he takes part in a psychological study. The other is set in the 1990s and covers the days leading to his capture in Montana.
Kaczynski carried out a mail bombing campaign that killed three people and injured 23, according to Netflix Tudum. The film dramatises the life before that notoriety and the investigation that ended it. It does not present the crimes as entertainment.
For viewers, this means two distinct settings. Harvard classrooms and testing rooms. Then a remote cabin in Montana three decades later.
The release is a streaming launch on Netflix. It is rated R and runs 1 hour 37 minutes, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Short. Tightly contained. Built for a single evening watch.
