Laminex looks to outback and alps for 2027 colour range

Laminex has released its Colour Collection 2027, adding 10 designs inspired by Australia's landscape to its laminate range.
The launch was detailed on 25 September 2026. It builds on a surface collection made in Australia for more than 90 years.
The 2027 line splits into six solid colours and four wood grains, according to Dezeen. Laminate here means a decorative skin pressed onto board for kitchens, wardrobes and shop counters. Think white peaks and red dust.
Solid colours include High Country, described as an alpine white, and Red Centre, described as a deep ochre. The wood grains include Smoked Bluegum and Raw Spotted Gum, both based on native Australian timbers.
The timbers use two production techniques. AbsoluteGrain is Laminex's system for matching the feel of real wood grain under the fingertips. TrueScale is its large-format print process designed to avoid visible repeats across big panels and long runs.
The company says the palette draws on three regions: the Victorian High Country, the Nullarbor plain and the Red Centre, according to Habitusliving. That is the background to the two hero names. High Country points north-east Victoria. Red Centre points to inland Northern Territory.
What makes this stand out for renovators is how the colour is meant to be used. Laminex has shown Red Centre wrapped across joinery, walls and loose furnishings in an immersive lounge setting, according to its own Get the Look article. Joinery is the trade term for built-in woodwork such as cupboards and shelving.
For makers, Laminex has published a Colour Collection 2027 Fabrication Guide. It covers curved high-pressure laminate, large-scale joinery, mitred details and continuous woodgrain, according to Laminex. High-pressure laminate is the thicker, tougher grade often bent around counters and doors. Mitred details are neat angled joints.
Samples from the 2027 range can be ordered through the company's Colour Collection Samples page. The main collection page at laminex.com.au/colour-collection carries the full list.
