Wycombe Wanderers sign former England striker Danny Ings

Danny Ings is back in football with Wycombe Wanderers.
The 34-year-old striker has joined the League One club as a free agent. He started this season without a team after spending last year with Sheffield United in the Championship, the second tier of English football, according to BBC Sport.
He could play straight away. Wycombe say Ings is available for selection for their home game against Reading at Adams Park.
It is the eighth club of a 17-year professional career. The Winchester-born forward started out at Bournemouth before joining Liverpool in the summer of 2015.
He knows the top level well. Ings has since played for Southampton, Aston Villa and West Ham United in the Premier League, as well as Burnley and Sheffield United.
There is a familiar face waiting for him in Buckinghamshire. Ings played alongside Wycombe coach Sam Vokes at Burnley, when the pair were both strikers there.
His England record is brief but memorable. Ings won three caps and scored once, with that goal coming in a friendly against Wales in 2020.
Wycombe have turned to experience at an uncertain moment. The club parted company with manager Michael Duff on 8 September, and Tom Hounsell has taken caretaker charge since his departure.
For fans, this means a proven finisher in the building. Ings has scored goals at every level he has played, and his movement in the penalty box remains sharp.
What makes this stand out is the fit. A young squad gets a calm, senior voice. A veteran striker gets another chance to do what he loves, in front of a crowd that will be close enough to hear every shout.
