Larry Kudlow Steps In to Host Sunday Morning Futures After Bartiromo Exit

Larry Kudlow will take over "Sunday Morning Futures" on a temporary basis after the ouster of Maria Bartiromo from Fox News.
He will start in the 10 a.m. hour this Sunday on Fox News Channel, according to a Variety report published on 25 September. The job is interim, meaning he is a stand-in until a permanent presenter is chosen. Fox News Channel said a new host will be named at a later date.
The arrangement is set to run for several weeks. Kudlow will keep presenting the Sunday programme through the weekend after the 8 November midterm elections in the United States. That timetable keeps the same face in the chair across the final stretch of the campaign season and into its aftermath.
Bartiromo has been off the air for more than six weeks. She has not been seen on Fox News properties since 9 August, when she hosted her final broadcast of "Mornings with Maria" on Fox Business. That weekday business programme was her last appearance for the company before her ouster.
Kudlow is already a central figure on the business side of the operation. He joined Fox Business Network in 2021 after serving as an economic adviser in the first Trump administration. His weekday programme there is now the most-watched programme on that cable network, Variety reported.
His hiring was first announced in late January 2021, with his daily programme scheduled to begin on 8 February 2021, as reported by the Los Angeles Times. He was the first official from the Trump White House to join Fox. The switch moved him from advising on economic policy inside government to explaining business news on air.
For viewers, this means little disruption in the short term. The slot stays the same. The format stays the same. Only the host changes while the network organises a longer-term plan. The search for a permanent host continues behind the scenes.
What makes this stand out is the timing. A Sunday show in election season has to book quickly and keep momentum week to week. Keeping an experienced presenter in place gives the production team stability until a permanent decision is made. Fox has not yet said when that announcement will come.
