Jodie Turner-Smith sued alongside brother over assault and drug claims

Three women suing as Jane Does have filed a lawsuit in Los Angeles Superior Court against British actor Jodie Turner-Smith and her brother Richard Smith, accusing him of sexual misconduct and drug dealing and accusing her of enabling him. The complaint was filed on Thursday, according to Variety.
The lawsuit accuses Richard Smith of engaging each of the three women in unwanted sexual activity, as reported by Variety. It also accuses him of drug dealing and drug sales or distribution activity. Those claims have not been decided by a court.
Turner-Smith, known for Queen & Slim, is not accused of direct sexual misconduct. The filing alleges she enabled her brother's behaviour by paying his bills, providing housing and supplying resources that supported his lifestyle, Variety reported. It further claims she gifted him an Audi that he used to transport drugs, and that she knew of significant dangers yet continued to provide housing, transport and lifestyle support.
A representative for Turner-Smith denied the claims in a statement to People, calling the case a fictional, meritless lawsuit, according to Variety. The denial rejects the allegations against both the actor and her brother.
The first Jane Doe alleged that in June 2024 Smith isolated her in a bedroom, would not let her leave, and pressured her to use drugs and take part in non-consensual sexual activity with him and another man, Variety reported. The second Jane Doe alleged that a relationship with Smith that began a year earlier became coercive and controlling. She said he pressured her to use drugs and to have non-consensual sex with other men.
That second woman also alleged she witnessed drug use, drug sales or distribution, sexual parties and firearms, and other conduct by Smith that left her fearing for her safety, according to Variety. The third Jane Doe alleged Smith offered her housing in exchange for sex and then forced drug use and sexual activity upon her.
The case was first detailed in an exclusive report on 25 September by the New York Post, which described the claim as Turner-Smith funding her brother's alleged illegal drug operation. No court findings have been made. The lawsuit is now before the state court in Los Angeles.
