She started on the floor. Rodrigo opened the first show lying down amid a field of pink flowers set up onstage to sing "Drop Dead," the opening song and lead single from her new album You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So In Love.

That was only the start of the new material. She followed "Drop Dead" with "u + me = <3," also from the new album, then played "So American" and "Good 4 U" in quick succession. Consequence The kickoff show ran to 26 songs in total.

Older favourites sat alongside the new songs. The Hartford set included "Driver's License," "Traitor" and "Favorite Crime" from Sour, and "Vampire" and "Bad Idea Right?" from Guts. She also performed "Serena Joy," the song inspired by The Handmaid's Tale that she first played at the Daisy Chain Fields festival.

Night one closed with a three-song encore. Rodrigo returned for "Deja Vu," "All-American Bitch" and "Expectations" to end the evening.

Wolf Alice opened both Hartford shows. The wider tour support list also includes Grace Ives, Devon Again, the Last Dinner Party and Die Spitz, who will appear on different dates.

The Unraveled Tour is a 65-date world tour, with North American and European dates announced stretching from this autumn into 2027. Rolling Stone Next year Rodrigo will also play three ten-night residencies, a run of shows in one venue rather than moving city to city, at the Intuit Dome in Los Angeles, the Barclays Center in New York and the O2 Arena in London.

For fans, this means Hartford gives the clearest map yet of how the new album will sit in the live show. The set balances all three records, with the staging built around the newest songs first.
