Olivia Rodrigo Posts Her My Chemical Romance Night, as the Band's Reissue Eyes the Charts

Olivia Rodrigo was in the crowd for a My Chemical Romance show on Wednesday, Oct. 28, and she shared the night on Instagram. In a Story, she posted a clip of the band playing "The Black Parade," the title track of their 2006 album, with pink heart emojis and a tag for the group's account, @mychemicalromance. The concert was part of the band's Long Live the Black Parade tour, according to Billboard.
The post landed in a chart week that has both artists in play. The Billboard 200 is the weekly ranking of the most popular albums in the United States, compiled by the data firm Luminate from album sales, streams and other listening. Rodrigo's album, You Seem Pretty Sad For a Girl So In Love, debuted at No. 1 in June. It has now spent three weeks at the top, though not in a row, including the chart dated Oct. 31.
Her latest return to No. 1 was helped by a new remix of "Expectations," her single with Chappell Roan. "Nonconsecutive" simply means the weeks were not back to back, with other albums taking the top spot in between.
My Chemical Romance have their own reason to watch the rankings. The Black Parade (20th Anniversary), an expanded edition of the 2006 album, came out on Oct. 23 with six bonus tracks and two live songs. A reissue is a re-release that adds material to an older record. Billboard says Rodrigo and My Chemical Romance are both likely contenders for high places on the Billboard 200 dated Nov. 6.
The original album is already the band's biggest chart success. It debuted and peaked at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 in 2006, the highest position any of their albums has reached. Its single "Welcome to the Black Parade" peaked at No. 9 on the Billboard Hot 100, the weekly singles chart, which is also the band's highest single placing.
If the reissue reaches No. 1, it would be the first album by My Chemical Romance to top the Billboard 200.
The band's tour is also heading toward its close. In November 2025, Consequence reported that My Chemical Romance had added two final dates to the Long Live the Black Parade run, both over Halloween weekend at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles.
For fans, the week is a neat overlap of two things at once. A concert clip from a famous fan drew attention to a 20-year-old album, and the chart race that follows will be measured in sales and listens, one copy and one stream at a time.
