Lisa won Best Pop at the 2026 MTV Video Music Awards for “Dream” featuring Kentaro Sakaguchi.

The prize, released through Lloud Co./RCA Records, was handed out during a ceremony hosted by Snoop Dogg at the Peacock Theater in L.A., according to Variety.

The show was scheduled for Sunday, September 27 at 7:30PM ET / 4:30PM PT, MTV listed. That slot put the live telecast in early evening on the East Coast and late afternoon on the West Coast.

The Best Pop race brought together four high-profile names. Ariana Grande was nominated for “hate that i made you love me”, Charli xcx for “SS26” and Olivia Rodrigo for “drop dead”, alongside Lisa’s winning “Dream”, AOL reported from the winners list.

The wider nominations field was led by Madonna with 13 nominations, followed by Taylor Swift with 11, Paramount said. Sabrina Carpenter and Ariana Grande were also among the nominees.

Two special honours shaped the night. Nirvana received the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award, given for career achievement in music video. Swift received the first Artist Director honour, a new award, Variety reported.

Fans had a direct say in the outcome. MTV operated an official voting site at vote.mtv.com for the 2026 awards.

Snoop Dogg warmed up for hosting duties with a promotional segment called ‘Real or Fake’, reviewing legendary VMA moments in a clip posted on the show’s Facebook page.

For fans, this means a night that mixed current pop competition with legacy recognition. Lisa’s win settled one of the closest-watched categories, while the Vanguard award for Nirvana and the debut Artist Director honour for Swift gave the broadcast its bookends.
