Savage given permission to talk to another club as Peterborough links grow

Forest Green Rovers have given manager Robbie Savage permission to speak to another club.
The club confirmed the decision on 28 September, with Savage strongly linked to the vacant job at Peterborough United, BBC Sport. He will not be in the dugout for Tuesday night's home game against Wealdstone.
Savage took charge at Forest Green on 1 July 2025. He arrived after a spell in charge of non-league Macclesfield Town.
As a player, he was a Wales international midfielder. He played in the Premier League for Derby County, Birmingham City, Leicester City and Blackburn Rovers and was known for his energy and tackling.
Forest Green finished seventh last season. They were then beaten in the play-off eliminators, the one-off knockout ties used to decide the final promotion places.
This season has been mixed. After 10 matches they sit 12th, with four wins, two draws and four defeats.
Peterborough are looking for a new manager after sacking Luke Williams on 19 September. They sit 23rd in League One, the third tier of English football, with one win from eight league games.
For fans, this means a strange Tuesday night. Forest Green must face Wealdstone without their manager, while Peterborough wait to make a call that could shape their fight to climb the table.
