Brandi Carlile is scrapping the setlist.

The 11-time Grammy winner will launch a fall US run titled Burn the Setlist (The All Request Tour) in November, performing as a trio with longtime bandmates and twins Phil and Tim Hanseroth. Every night will be built from spur-of-the-moment requests from the crowd, so no two shows will match. Carlile announced the tour on her official Instagram account on 28 September 2026.

The format is not new for Carlile, but this is the first full tour built around it. She tested all-request sections during The Human Tour earlier this year and will now extend the idea across the whole evening, according to Rolling Stone.

For fans, this means calling out favourite songs and hearing the band work them up on the spot. It also means phones stay away. Each date will be a phone-free show, with attendees placed in Yondr pouches, the lockable sleeves that keep handsets out of use until after the performance.

There is a trade-off for leaving phones in pouches. Each attendee will receive three live recordings, known as bootlegs, via QR code, plus other exclusive content from the night. Full bootlegs from each show will also be available to buy for those who were in the room.

Tickets are organised through Carlile's Bramily fan club before open sale. The premium Bramily presale starts on 29 September at 10 a.m. local time. The non-premium Bramily presale follows at 2 p.m. through the fan club's official website. General sale begins on 2 October at 10 a.m. local time.

The November leg opens on the West Coast and moves through the Southwest and Midwest. Carlile plays 5 November in Portland, Oregon, at Revolution Hall, then 7 November in Oakland, California, at Fox Theater. She plays two nights in Tucson, Arizona, at Rialto Theatre on 9 and 10 November, followed by 12 November in Des Moines, Iowa, at Des Moines Civic Center.

She then plays two nights in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, at The Pabst Theater on 14 and 15 November, and two nights in Minneapolis, Minnesota, at State Theatre on 17 and 18 November. The month closes with two nights in Louisville, Kentucky, at The Louisville Palace Theater on 20 and 21 November, and 22 November in Kansas City, Missouri, at Uptown Theater. The run ends with three nights in Port Chester, New York, at The Capitol Theatre on 15, 16 and 17 December.

The announcement follows a busy month for Carlile. She won Song of the Year at the Americana Honors & Awards for "Returning to Myself." She has also released "Returning to Myself (Sad Gay Version)," a deluxe reworking of the original album with four tracks co-produced with Aaron Dessner, including a new version of Billy Joel's "And So It Goes."

What makes this stand out is the scale of the risk. A fixed setlist lets a crew plan lights, sound and changes to the minute. An all-request night hands those choices to the room.
