Former Dance Moms rivals Abby Lee Miller and Cathy Nesbitt-Stein will sit on the same judging panel for the first time in Abby vs. Cathy: Hit the 8.

The shortform series debuts on 27 October on ShortVydz alongside a second new title, Crashing Out With Kail, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Both shows will be available on ShortVydz.com and the ShortVydz app. The Hollywood Reporter

ShortVydz is a subscription-driven streaming platform built for shortform reality content, meaning viewers pay for short episodes made for phones. Co-founder Lindsay Schwartz is launching the service with these two shows as its first original commissions. Each will run in episodes of two to four minutes designed for mobile viewing.

Abby vs. Cathy: Hit the 8 is a single-elimination bracket dance competition, meaning dancers are knocked out round by round until one winner remains. Miller and Nesbitt, both former Dance Moms favourites, judge together for the first time. The contest brings in 128 dancers aged 8 to 16, organised across seven rounds.

The prize is $10,000.

The companion launch, Crashing Out With Kail, follows former 16 and Pregnant and Teen Mom 2 star Kailyn Lowry on her international Fatherless Behavior tour. It uses the same short-episode format as the dance contest.

For fans, this means a fast reunion with a twist. Miller and Nesbitt-Stein, whose full married name was confirmed in an announcement post, built their profiles by clashing over their rival dance teams. Official Abby Lee Miller Facebook post Now they call the results together.
