Prince Edward, Duke of Kent led his family in a memorial concert in London for his late wife, Katharine, Duchess of Kent, one year after her death.

The concert was held on a Sunday evening in September 2026 at Sinfonia Smith Square, a music hall in central London. It celebrated the duchess's musical legacy. The duke, 90, attended and led tributes to his wife, according to Town & Country.

He was joined by his brother, Prince Michael of Kent. All three of the duke and duchess's children were present: Lady Helen Taylor, the Earl of St Andrews, and Lord Nicholas Windsor.

The next generation was there as well. Lady Helen Taylor brought her daughter Estella. Lady Amelia Windsor and Lady Marina Windsor, both grandchildren of the late duchess, attended. Lord Frederick Windsor came with his wife, actress Sophie Winkleman.

Music was the focus of the evening. More than 40 young musicians and alumni performed, including the Future Talent Orchestra.

That choice reflected the duchess's own work. The concert was organized by Future Talent, a charity she co-founded in 2004 to support young musicians from low-income backgrounds. The group provides instruments, lessons, and mentoring to children who might otherwise not afford training.

Katharine Worsley was born in 1933. She married the duke in 1961. She died in September 2025 at the age of 92.

She stayed connected to the charity until the end. She left £10,000 (about $13,400) to Future Talent in her will.

The evening was small by royal standards. No palace ceremony. Just family, friends, and students playing the music she championed.
