Disney's Avengers: Endgame Encore has taken No. 1 at the U.K. and Ireland box office with £4.1 million ($5.5 million) for the 25-27 September weekend, according to figures reported by Variety.

The result puts a familiar title back on top in Britain and Ireland. It also led the North American market over the same weekend with $26 million, ahead of Primetime on $19 million, Variety reported.

In North America, Encore played in 3,060 theatres and was estimated to earn $11 million on its opening day, Deadline reported. In Mexico, it grossed $4.2 million for its opening weekend, Screen Daily reported.

Sony's Resident Evil held second place in the U.K. and Ireland. In its second weekend, the film added $3 million for a two-week total of $11.6 million in the market.

Paramount's Heart of the Beast, starring Brad Pitt and J.K. Simmons, opened at No. 3 with $2.8 million. Universal's Sense and Sensibility followed at No. 4 with $2 million on its debut.

Studiocanal took fifth with Shaun the Sheep: The Beast of Mossy Bottom. The family animation added $1.1 million in its second weekend, bringing its U.K. and Ireland total to $3.4 million.

Warner Bros.' Practical Magic 2 was sixth with $1 million in its third weekend. That gives the sequel $9.5 million in total in the U.K. and Ireland.

What makes this stand out is the spread of the chart. New blockbusters sat alongside family animation, horror, romance and long-running holdovers, all collecting under $6 million at the top.

Behind them, Studiocanal's Pressure earned $780,739 in its third week for seventh place. Its running total in the U.K. and Ireland stands at $7.6 million.

Universal's The Odyssey placed eighth with $494,831, lifting its large U.K. and Ireland total to $117.1 million. Sony's Spider-Man: Brand New Day was ninth with $422,187 in its ninth weekend, for a total of $134.6 million.

For fans, this means Spider-Man is still pulling in crowds two months after release. The film had the third-highest opening in U.K. history, behind only Avengers: Endgame at $58.3 million and Spectre at $55.5 million, Variety previously reported.

Prathyangira Cinemas' Indian title The Paradise rounded out the top 10. It opened with $358,942 in the U.K. and Ireland.
