The Amazing Race Celebrates 25 Years With Anniversary Special Before Season 39

The Amazing Race is marking 25 years with an hour-long anniversary celebration on CBS.
The special, titled The Amazing Race: 25 Years Around the World, airs Sept. 29 at 8 p.m. PT/ET, according to The Hollywood Reporter. It lands just before the two-night premiere of Season 39. The outing is listed as TV-PG L in HD, meaning parental guidance is suggested because of coarse language.
The anniversary hour is produced as an Entertainment Tonight special. It features new interviews, behind-the-scenes footage and never-before-seen content from the long-running race around the world.
There are several ways to watch live. Viewers in the United States can catch it on CBS through live television services that carry the channel, including DirecTV, Fubo and Hulu + Live TV. It is also available live with a Paramount+ Premium subscription, which includes a live feed of CBS. Viewers with Paramount+ Essential, the lower-priced tier without live CBS, can watch it the following day.
The special looks back on a format that has stayed remarkably consistent. Hosted by Phil Keoghan, the multi-Emmy Award-winning reality series sends teams on a global trek of challenges, navigation and eliminations, as described by CBS.
Then the race starts again. Season 39 premieres Wednesday, Sept. 30 from 9:30-11:00 p.m. ET/PT, according to Paramount Press Express. The new season features 13 teams of new competitors. The winners will take home a $1 million prize.
For fans, this means a quick catch-up before new favourites emerge. One night for the history. Then back to the starting line.
