Will Reeve reveals testicular cancer diagnosis and summer of treatment

ABC News correspondent Will Reeve has revealed he was treated for testicular cancer earlier this year.
The 34-year-old spoke about the diagnosis with his wife Amanda on Good Morning America on Tuesday, September 29, 2026, according to Page Six. He kept the treatment private through the summer. He chose to share it now to encourage other people to seek care.
Reeve said he found a lump in his left testicle and had it removed by surgery in early May, according to Deadline. Tests after that first operation led to a diagnosis of an aggressive form of testicular cancer. He described the weeks that followed as fast-moving and frightening.
Doctors identified the cancer as embryonal carcinoma, a fast-growing type of testicular cancer, according to Good Morning America. He then had a second surgery and two cycles of chemotherapy at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York. The treatment continued through the summer months.
He rang the bell on the ward in July to mark the end of treatment. He said he currently has no cancer.
Reeve is the son of actor Christopher Reeve and Dana Reeve. Christopher Reeve died in 2004, nearly ten years after he was paralysed in an equestrian accident. Dana Reeve died of lung cancer in 2006.
Reeve is a New York-based correspondent for ABC News and reports for Good Morning America and World News Tonight. Earlier this year, ABC News Studios released the documentary Will Reeve: Finding My Father on February 12, 2026. The programme retraced his father’s final expedition 30 years later and aired as a primetime special.
