Painter Anna Weyant lists Fifth Avenue flat for US$3.5 million

Painter Anna Weyant is selling her Upper East Side apartment in New York for US$3.5 million. The listing at 1140 Fifth Avenue was reported by ARTnews on 29 September 2026. It returns a high-profile art-world address to the market after two years.
The home is a co-op, a common New York arrangement where buyers purchase shares in a building corporation rather than the bricks themselves. It is described as a classic six, estate-agent shorthand for a traditional six-room pre-war layout with a formal entry sequence, according to Curbed. The building stands on upper Fifth Avenue, facing Central Park.
Weyant bought the flat in 2024. That purchase came shortly after her break-up with gallerist Larry Gagosian, her former partner, ARTnews reported. The reports of the new listing do not disclose what she paid for the apartment at that time.
Weyant is a painter whose early career was organised around small gallery shows that sold through quickly. She had two sold-out shows before a September 2021 profile by Artnet. Her market profile then stepped up sharply in the auction room.
In May 2022, her 2020 painting Summertime was offered with an estimate of US$3.5 million to US$5.5 million ahead of a sale at Christie's, the published price range within which the auction house expected bidding to land, according to Artnet. That range put a three-year-old work by a young painter among the higher-priced lots of the week. The result was closely watched because estimates, guarantees and fees shape what sellers receive and what the public reads as value.
Away from the studio, Weyant splits her time between Nashville and New York. She told Cultured in June that she builds dollhouses from scratch as a hobby. It is hands-on labour. Tiny rooms, cut and glued by hand.
What makes this stand out is the number. US$3.5 million matches the low estimate once placed on Summertime. One painting. One flat. Same figure.
