Prime Video is closing in on a series order for a live-action series based on Marvel Comics' Clone Saga, Deadline reported on 29 September 2026. The planned show would centre on Spider-Man clones Ben Reilly and Kaine Parker from the second Clone Saga story arc. A series order means a full season is commissioned with no pilot shot first. No deal is signed yet.

Reilly and Parker are genetic copies of Peter Parker, the man behind Spider-Man. Marvel describes the core Clone Saga idea as Spider-Man confronting the return of his perfect clone, Peter Parker's carbon copy, Marvel. The television version is expected to build out from that premise. Sources cautioned there may be significant changes from the comics in any screen adaptation.

Kelvin Yu, the creator of American Born Chinese, is attached to write the series. Amy Pascal, Phil Lord and Christopher Miller are expected to executive produce alongside Yu, meaning they would guide the show creatively and financially. Those attachments were detailed in the same Deadline report.

The show falls under a multi-title deal between Amazon MGM Studios and Sony Pictures Television for television series using Sony's Universe of Marvel Characters. That is the library of Marvel characters whose screen rights sit with Sony. The release plan calls for a linear debut on MGM+, meaning it would air first on the cable channel, followed by a streaming release on Prime Video.

The Clone Saga series would succeed Spider-Noir, which starred Nicolas Cage as Ben Reilly with the Noir detective as his alter ego. That series was cancelled by Prime Video after one season, according to Deadline. The Noir project began life much earlier as a live-action Spider-Man Noir series in development at Amazon Studios and Sony Pictures Television, first reported by The Hollywood Reporter in February 2023. Oren Uziel was attached to write that earlier incarnation.

Representatives for Amazon MGM Studios and Sony TV declined to comment on the Clone Saga plan. That leaves the order unconfirmed by either studio. The report rests on unnamed sources, and the comics are described as source material and inspiration rather than a strict blueprint.

For viewers, this matters because the slot is already warm. One Spider-Man story with Cage at its centre has just closed after a single season. Another story built on the same clone mythology is now waiting to take its place.
