South Park Puts Butters Against Backyard Billionaires in Data Centre Episode

South Park puts Butters up against billionaires building data centres in backyards on Wednesday, Sept. 30. That is the hook for Season 29, Episode 6. It airs on Comedy Central, which is owned by Paramount.

The instalment is titled 'BILLIONAIRE WEENIETOWN'. Its logline, meaning its one-sentence plot summary, reads: 'Butters is unhappy with the data centers that the billionaires are building in our backyards.' That wording is reported by Deadline and matches the text on the show's official site, which hosts a dedicated news page for the episode (South Park official site).

A promo, meaning a short preview clip, was released ahead of the broadcast. It opens with a doorbell ring at Butters' home. The visitor is an exterminator from a company called X-Pest, there to discuss billionaires in the backyard, according to Deadline. Little else has been made public.

A first-look image carries the gag further. It shows Butters standing in his backyard alongside the X-Pest worker. The exterminator wears a poison tank and holds a sprayer wand. Pest control, played straight.

Data centres are large facilities filled with computers that store data and run online services, including AI systems. They have become familiar neighbours in many towns. That is why the backyard joke lands quickly. No technical knowledge is needed.

The Hollywood Reporter lists the AI data-centre episode for Sept. 30 and refers to the programme in that listing as 'South America' (The Hollywood Reporter). No extra story detail was given with that name in the material provided. The core description remains the same.

Episode 6 sits inside Season 29. The number tells viewers exactly where they are in the run. Six episodes in, with Butters in front.

For fans, this means a short wait. The preview and the logline were published on Sept. 29. The full episode follows on Sept. 30.
