Butters Takes On Billionaire Data Centres in Next South Park

Fan favourite Butters is taking on billionaires and their backyard data centres in the next South Park. Comedy Central's logline, meaning its short plot summary for listings, says he is "unhappy with the data centers that the billionaires are building in our backyards." The line sets up the newest episode of Season 29, which is being presented under the title SOUTH AMERICA.
The episode airs Wednesday at 10 p.m. ET/PT on Comedy Central, according to details reported by The Hollywood Reporter. ET/PT stands for Eastern Time and Pacific Time. That 10 p.m. label means a late-evening start on both the East and West coasts of the United States.
Viewers who miss the live cable broadcast have a second option. The episode will stream on Paramount+ and be available on demand after the Comedy Central premiere ends. On demand means watching through a TV provider's catch-up service rather than waiting for a scheduled repeat.
The SOUTH AMERICA title is part of this season's packaging. Series creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone announced it in a Sept. 8 press release. "Inspired by the bravery and patriotism of Apple and Google, we are changing the name of South Park to 'SOUTH AMERICA,'" they said.
That statement was repeated in The Hollywood Reporter's Sept. 29 report on the new episode. The report lists Season 29 as presented under that name. The logline itself gives no further story details beyond Butters and his complaint.
A short summary can only say so much. It names the character. It names the gripe. The scenes, jokes and ending stay under wraps until transmission.
The basic set-up is simple for newcomers. The series follows four main characters: Stan, Kyle, Cartman and Kenny, according to South Park Studios. Butters steps forward as the focus this time.
The official site describes South Park as a Peabody and Emmy Award-winning animated series. Those are two major American honours for television. The same site offers full, uncensored episodes for viewers who want to revisit older stories.
For viewers, this means a familiar routine. Watch live on Wednesday night for the new humour first. Or stream it afterwards if cable is not part of the plan.
