Drake Shows Off Platinum Cash Money Chain on Kick Livestream

Drake pulled out a platinum Cash Money chain live on camera and said it was a gift from Birdman. He was gambling with betting company Stake on Kick, the live-video platform, alongside comedian BenDaDonn. Billboard reported the stream on 29 September.
He held the chain up for viewers. Then he asked, “You think you guys could buy our artifacts like how we buy your artifacts?”
He did not stop there. He followed the line with, “No, it’s in the family, dummy,” and added, “What’s wrong with you guys?” according to Complex.
The word choice matters. Drake bought Pharrell Williams’ jewellery at auction and wore it in the 2023 video for “Jumbotron Sh-- Poppin”. He later claimed he had melted the pieces down in his guest verse on Travis Scott’s “Meltdown”. He then showed the collection again in the video for “Family Matters”.
Pharrell has played down the back-and-forth. He told GQ that Drake’s jabs about the jewellery did not bother him. He also called the pieces artifacts, the same word Drake used on the stream.
There was music news in the broadcast too. Drake said songs from his FOMO short film would arrive on streaming on Thursday. He did not give titles or a track count during the clip.
For fans following the thread, this was Drake flipping the script. He has spent two years talking about buying someone else’s jewellery. This time he was showing a piece from his own label family that he said money cannot buy.
