Balmain opens new Milan flagship on Via della Spiga

Balmain, the French fashion house, has opened a new flagship boutique — its main shop in the city — at 23 Via della Spiga in Milan under creative director Antonin Tron. WWD
The shop is spread over two levels and measures 3,200 square feet. It replaces Balmain's previous Milan boutique on Via Montenapoleone, which closed over the summer.
The ground floor is dedicated to womenswear and accessories. The lower level holds menswear and accessories.
Inside, the house has kept some of the existing architecture by Vincenzo De Cotiis. The interiors were curated by architect Andrea Faraguna under Tron's creative direction, giving the space what the house describes as a gallery-like ambience.
Balmain said the design balances architectural rigor with sensorial warmth. Materials include onyx, Venetian plaster, mirrored surfaces, fibreglass, metal and glass.
What makes this stand out for visitors is that mix of hard and soft finishes. Polished stone and metal sit beside plaster and glass to keep the rooms bright but warm.
The Milan opening sits within a wider retail network. Balmain operates 34 full-price stores globally alongside 13 outlets, according to the company.
The house lists the new shop as Via Della Spiga 23, 20121 Milano, with contact at boutiquemilano@Balmain.com. The address puts it in Milan's luxury shopping district, a short walk from the old site.
That former shop was Balmain's first Italian flagship, at Via Montenapoleone 27D. It covered 3,024 square feet over two floors and carried women's and accessories collections.
