Dori Media takes largest unscripted slate to MIPCOM

Dori Media will bring what it describes as its largest unscripted line-up to MIPCOM in Cannes, led by four new launches from Israel. Four titles lead the list.
The Israeli company is known internationally as the seller of Power Couple, according to Deadline. It will pitch its catalogue at MIPCOM, the international market in Cannes where distributors sell programmes to broadcasters and platforms. Unscripted, meaning reality, gameshows and documentaries made without actors following a script, is the focus of this year's push.
The headline reality entry is New Love, a primetime format, meaning a show designed for peak evening viewing. It comes from Power Couple maker Abot Hameiri, which is owned by Fremantle, according to Deadline. Made for Reshet 13, it is a dating show in which women live with a stranger for 72 hours. They then decide to stay together or replace them.
Two gameshows join the slate. The Hive comes from United Studios Productions and channels Kan 11 and Makan. The details are short. You Should Know gives buyers more to work with.
You Should Know, from Shenhar Productions, is a quiz show built around the contestants themselves. Questions are tailored from their own social media feeds. The idea tests how well players know their own online lives.
The fourth launch is My Hottest Years, a docu-series, meaning a documentary story told across several episodes. It comes from Drucker-Goren Communications and was made for Kan 11. The series focuses on women's hormonal changes.
The wider catalogue adds factual and spiritual stories. Paraiso Tropical is a co-production from Apertura Films and Ajimolido Films. It centres on a Panamanian plane crash that killed all 21 people on board.
Seekers is a six-part series that traces the human experience through six guides. They are an Amazonian chief, an Advaita monk, an African healer, a Hindu sage, a Native grandmother and a Buddhist psychologist. Edgar Ramirez, Riley Keough and Jamie-Lynn Sigler all feature in the series.
For viewers, this stage means patience. Formats, meaning show ideas that buyers can remake locally in other countries, depend on sales struck at markets such as MIPCOM. A deal comes first. A local version follows only if a broadcaster orders one.
